Adam Chan Live

One teacher. Two paths. A lifetime of cultivation — and the practices that bring it home to you, every week, live.

A lifetime on the path.

Adam Chan began his Kung Fu training in 1986 with Sifu Joseph Boychuck (Wing Chun, Moy Yat Lineage). Over the years he studied with Dr. Michael Smith (Sifu) — Wing Chun, Tai Chi, Bagua, Hsing Yi, Yi Quan, Shaolin, and Natural Gate Boxing — and with Jesse Glover (Bruce Lee's first student), Ed Hart (Bruce Lee's second student), and Si Gung Tung. His Qi Gong study has included Professor Chang Su-fang — Yi Quan and Five Element Medical Qi Gong — and Heaven Mountain Qi Gong with Master Steve Smith. A lifelong path — most of it trained full-time, forty-plus hours a week, every week.

He trained hard. He pushed harder. Until one day, he broke.

His central nervous system collapsed. He could walk — but not far before dizziness and fatigue overwhelmed him. He could speak — but couldn't track a simple thought, couldn't count to twenty, couldn't hold the thread of his own mind. He searched everywhere for healing — herbal medicine, acupuncture, Chi Tui Na, trauma therapy, Western medicine, sports medicine doctors, PTSD counselling, post-concussion therapy. Nothing worked. No one knew how to fix him.

Then he found his way back to Non-Doing Taoist Qi Gong — a practice he had first touched at eighteen, returned to in moments of need, but never given his whole heart. This time, he gave it everything. In the years since, this ancient, formless practice has completely healed him. He is no longer sick. Body, mind, nervous system — fully restored. What nothing else could touch, Qi Gong made whole.

But the deeper gift wasn't physical. The healing of body, nervous system, and immunity was real — yet it was only the doorway. What Qi Gong truly revealed was something older: that the endless chasing the Tao and Buddha warned of — the red dust of striving, wanting, becoming — was itself the wound. Beneath the chasing was a quieter ground. A natural opening. A bliss that asks for no reason. A peace that needs nothing to arrive. A life lived in harmony with what already is.

"The body taught me strength. The breath is teaching me stillness. Both are the same Tao."

Today, Sifu Adam teaches both — the way of power and the way of stillness. He doesn't teach from theory. He teaches from a body that has been broken and rebuilt — and from a heart that has finally laid down its chasing.

How he teaches.

Sifu Adam's teaching is built on three principles — the things he wishes he had been told earlier, and the things his own breaking taught him.

Honesty over hype

No mystical performance. No promises of overnight transformation. Just what works — taught clearly, taught honestly, taught from lived experience.

Harmony, not force

The body heals through softening, not striving. Kung Fu and Qi Gong both teach this — power arises from ease, not effort. Stop forcing. Begin returning.

One path, many doors

Whether you come for movement or stillness, the deeper destination is the same: returning to your true nature — without chasing, without performance.

"Doing is a tool. It is not the goal. Most cannot begin at emptiness — so do only what you need. No more."

Why this platform exists.

Adam Chan Live is an independent platform — created and operated by 1560319 B.C. Ltd., wholly owned by Ka Yin Chan (a.k.a. Adam Chan). It exists for one reason: to give Sifu Adam a space to teach directly, without dilution, without third parties, without compromise.

Every session is taught live, by Adam himself. Every program is built on his lived experience. Every student gets direct access to his teaching, his guidance, and the community gathering around the practice.

This site is not affiliated with adamchankungfu.com or any other platform. It is, simply, where Adam now lives, teaches, and offers his work to the world.
